The Friends of Southwark Park is a UK registered charity (1183999) and a “Friends of” group recognised by the London Borough of Southwark. Our objects are “For the benefit of the inhabitants of Southwark and the surrounding area to provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life in particular but not exclusively by the preservation, promotion, support, assistance and improvement of Southwark Park, King’s Stairs Gardens Park, King George’s Field Park, Neptune Street Park, Canada Water Dock basin, Surrey Docks Adventure Playground, and West Lane Memorial Gardens.“
We liaise with Southwark council, suggest and respond to proposals, and encourage Southwark Council to look after the park. Our parks are owned and managed by London Borough of Southwark Parks.

Southwark Park is English Heritage Grade Two Listed and opened in 1869. Our parks are cherished by the people of Rotherhithe, Bermondsey and everyone who uses and visits them. Surrounded by developments of flats our parks also provide essential amenity space for local residents, their pets, wildlife and nature.
